Call 811 Before You Dig in Washington
Washington requires you to call 811 before any digging, including for a water line repair.
How it works
- Call 811 or submit a request online at least two business days before digging.
- Utilities mark buried lines with colored paint or flags.
- Blue marks water, red marks electric and yellow marks gas.
- Dig carefully around the marks.
Private lines on your property, such as irrigation and some water lines, may not be marked by utilities, which is why pipe locating matters.
